    Counselling, Exwick, Exeter

January is a funny month….following Christmas and New Year, which can really highlight family and personal dynamics….

We arrive in a new year…..with potential?….with the same old feelings?…with something not feeling right….

Lots of people suddenly start running…. dieting….promoting all the healthy changes they are making…..does this generate difficult feelings?…

I find January to be a month of relection, introspection and consideration.

Maybe licking wounds after difficult family and relational interactions.

Maybe wondering which way to turn, how to make changes, where to look for help…..

My counselling is open- minded, non-judgemental (I really mean this), welcoming and accepting….

For me counselling is about bringing whatever on that day…deeply heart breaking life experiences or what you did yesterday…

I have learnt that witnessing what is said can provide perspective and new understanding.

Doesn’t mean counselling isn’t tricky, and painful, and hard at times….

In its simplest form it is just a conversation….one where trust is built, slowly over time and there are no expectations.

I work on a cosy cabin in Exwick, Exeter.

Also I offer a free 30 minute chat, to see if we could work well together.

So first step drop me a message and then let’s see how the year develops….

    Xx

  • Christmas, Shiatsu and Counselling

Gosh this is a time of the year isn’t it!

Such a hard time of year for so many people.

This special time of year, not celebrated by everyone, means so many things to so many people.

There seems to be an awful lot of stress flying around, in general.

Challenging for those feeling the stress and challenging for those around, and for those who are feeling or dealing with all sorts of difficult things.

Both Shiatsu and Counselling can provide support and space to help at this time of year.

Whether, through shiatsu, you get a sense of what you are holding in your body or, through counselling, you can see how it feels to express you inner thoughts.

If you feel called to have a try of therapy with me then do get in touch – through the get in touch page.

    Take care out there

    Xx

  • Autumn Celebrations

October is flying by!…..I have a week off from Shiatsu and Counselling coming up. Half term shenanigans with the family will commence!

I also have a (big) birthday coming up 😁🎂😁 Party prep in full mode and excitement building. I feel really ready to celebrate, with cake and dancing.

It’s all happening at the same time (always seems to be the way, right?) I have my counselling graduation in the same week 🎓😃

Lots going on right now….but mostly though I want to be hibernating 🤣

Feels like the energy has changed and we’re heading towards the time for quiet, reflection and rest.

I like this about the winter months and try, although life continues at a pace, to retreat, cosy up and lie fallow.

I find that Shiatsu and Counselling sessions change with the seasons a little as well.

In both Counselling and Shiatsu this is a great time to review where we think we are and practise listening to what our bodies need.

Our bodies can tune into the seasonal changes. If we can trust them they can help us fall into relaxation, help us switch our minds off, or at least slow them down.

In the meanwhile I imagine October is going to be over before I know it!…..BUT in between the busy times and the fun I plan some slumbering, some snoozing and some relaxation…..

I have a few spaces available next week for Shiatsu and w/c 4th.

I am always happy to talk Counselling and Shiatsu – so do contact me with any questions or queries.

    Xx
