Shiatsu over Easter

Life seems super busy at the moment, the Spring energy has kicked it & this means lots of ideas & plans being thought up.  Everyone seems to be making the most of the warmer weather, it suddenly seems easy to achieve things. Easter is generally a busy time, fitting in family visits, school holidays, day to day chores & work.

I am working the week after Easter – in Exeter on Wednesday 4th & in Dawlish on Friday 6th.  I have one space left in Dawlish at 11.10am.  The evening slots have been taken on Wednesday in Exeter but I have some spaces in the daytime still available.

The following week I am off with the kiddies to spend some quality grand parenting time.  Hoping the grand parenting time means they have the boys whilst I have some time to myself.

It is hard in our busy lives to find space for ourselves but it is so important that we do.  When we are re-charged we have more energy to care & support for those around us. Shiatsu is a great way to get serious space, quiet, stillness & relaxation.

As Shiatsu is a supportive form of therapy, in a short space of time, it can release & relieve the tension & stress that we carry around with us. It can also help with energy levels & aid healthy sleep.  Setting you up nicely to be able to manage Easter & whatever comes with it!

Have a good one whatever you are planning.

Shiatsu For All – Exeter, Dawlish, Exmouth, Devon

shiatsu 28.01.2017 008

Shiatsu is a gentle & supportive form of hands-on therapy so it suitable for any age . It can be given to children & they often lap it up. I have given family sessions, where the whole family has a treatment. These can be given as a home visit, which is agreed through discussion.

FB_IMG_1490903614572It is very accessible.  It is generally given on a futon mat on the floor. I also have a couch & a massage chair so if the floor is difficult then there are other options.  Shiatsu can be given with the client lying or sitting in any position,  allowing the client to always be comfortable. It always given through clothes but still provides a strong connection & satisfying massage.

shiatsu 28.01.2017 062Shiatsu provides a safe touch, which allows the client to quickly drift into a deeply relaxed state.  As it is a safe & secure form of therapy it can allow a client to explore their emotional or mental balance, feeling this through their bodies rather than thinking or talking it through. This can allow tension caused by stress, depression or anxiety to be released.

FB_IMG_1486158179562Shiatsu is tailored to suit that client on that day, which can make it a satisfying form of therapy, meeting the client how they want to be meet. It is a gentle but powerful form of therapy, although it can be more physical when appropriate, including stretches & rotations.

FB_IMG_1491158712734Shiatsu uses the same Meridians (lines of energy)  in the body that Acupuncture uses.  We also use the same pressure points on those Meridians.  We use massage techniques to work the Meridans & points to help the body to regain balance. When the body is in balance symptoms can ease, energy levels can rise, stress & anxiety can fall away, sleep can become deeper & healthier.  The body can feel like everything is working as it is supposed to, there is more flow & fluidity physically, mentally & emotionally.

Shiatsu Easter Treats, Exeter, Devon

Easter is so nearly upon us & it often comes with a lot of busy times, a pinch of stress & too much chocolate.  So how about finding some time for a relaxing, energising Shiatsu -to help you prepare for the weekend, or to help you recover from it – or give you a boost to get through the holidays.

Due to cancellations & a change of plans I have some spaces still available this week, in Exeter.  As an Easter treat these sessions come at £5 off – £35 rather than £40 – for some serious ‘me-time.’  The spaces I have available for £35 are at 9.45 & 11 on Tuesday 27th & 9.30 on Wednesday 28th.

It’s so important to look after ourselves & our health, so that we can support those around us.  A session of Shiatsu can set you up to deal with whatever gets thrown at you. It is gentle but powerful & can have a profound effect, sometimes quickly.

After Easter I have spaces available on Wednesday 4th April.  So maybe this is the perfect time to get a boost ready for the second week of the kids holidays!?

Have a great Easter everyone.

Shiatsu This Weekend – Exeter, Dawlish, Exmouth, Devon

It is very busy Shiatsu wise at the moment, just the way I like it.  This weekend is no different, I have a Shiatsu surgery tomorrow & I have a new event on Sunday.  Also I have some spaces left in the week before Easter.

I am only able to work some Saturdays so then ones I do work I try to get in as many Shiatsu’s as I can.  Once I have taken into consideration family commitments & my husband working some Saturdays there aren’t so many left.  However I offer as many as I can for those of you tied into a Monday to Friday working week.  Perfect to have a tension-busting, deeply-relaxing, stress-relieving Shiatsu at the end of a long week.  I do also offer early evening appointments on Mondays & Wednesdays.

Then on Sunday I am attending the Holistic Day at the David Lloyd Gym here in Exeter.  All the therapists are offering tasters for £10 & all money is going to charity.  This event is open to members & non-members – some of the appointments are already booked up but there are still some spaces.  The event details can be found here

If you are looking at my page for the first time & want to know more about Shiatsu then have a look at various pages on this site. Also have a look at the Shiatsu Society website for their info.

Have a good weekend whatever you have planned.

Shiatsu for Easter, Forget the Eggs! Exeter, Dawlish, Exmouth, Devon

Easter seems to have crept up quickly this year, what with the unseasonably cold weather & the regular snow days.  I don’t know about you but for us Easter is fairly busy, particularly if you include the two weeks of school holidays.  We have lots of catching up with family & various trips & activities planned.

If you are in a similar situation it may be a good idea to grab yourself a Shiatsu – either in preparation for the break or as a breather in the midst of it all.  Shiatsu is serious down time, a space for you & just you.  There are no expectations or demands, it’s easy you simply have to lie & rest. It is a very relaxing form of therapy.

Shiatsu is also energising, it can really help with energy levels & when that happens everything seems to be a little easier. Rather than feeling like you are pushing through treacle to get a mammoth list of jobs done you can start knocking those Easter jobs off.

Shiatsu has also been shown to help with stress & anxiety & maybe you are feeling some of this is coming your way over Easter, or that you are prone to anxious bouts. Shiatsu can ease the body, mind & spirit.  It is a very supportive treatment, allowing the tension to release.

I have appointments still available before Easter in Exeter.  I work in a solid wood cabin in my garden, which I have fondly nicknamed the ‘Shiatsu Shed.’ It is a perfect haven for a peaceful & relaxing Shiatsu, but close to the city centre & train station & easy parking.

The week following the Easter weekend I have appointments in Exeter & Dawlish.  I love working with a group of other therapists down in Dawlish, in a space called The Studio.  The space is right next to a carpark & a very short walk from the town centre or the train station.

If you can’t find the time in the next two weeks then maybe book in for after the madness! I have spaces in Exeter, Dawlish & Exmouth in the last two weeks of April, after the school holidays.

I’m always happy to talk Shiatsu so do get in touch through the ‘Contact Me’ page with any queries.

Shiatsu, Spring & Snow, Exeter, Dawlish, Exmouth, Devon

Well no-one really thought we would get more snow – but here it is – with us again.       img_20180318_123141801203010.jpg

It was so warm & sunny on Friday, it felt like Spring was here but Winter was not done with us yet.  We have a snow day tomorrow which is great extra family time but I am ready to be working, giving uplifting Shiatsu’s.

Spring is a good time of the year, there are ideas in the air & lots of opportunities starting to appear alongside the plants shoots out of the ground.  However this year we still need to be in hibernation mood, there is a need for warmth & supportive treatments still.  When the Spring energy does start to show itself it may be a difficult transition.

Shiatsu is adaptable & tailored specifically to the person & their needs & condition that day.  I imagine that I may be giving Winter warming Shiatsu’s on Tuesday & supportive Spring Shiatsu’s by the end of the week.

Whatever the weather Shiatsu is a relaxing treatment & can help with energy levels & healthy sleep.  It has been shown to hep with anxiety & stress.  It is a unique form of therapy, that is supportive, holding the client in a very gentle but secure way.  Shiatsu touch can release tension but also emotional stresses & strains held in the body.

I have some spaces still available next week – Monday afternoon, Tuesday morning & Wednesday – so you could sneak in a Shiatsu before Easter.  These appointments are in Exeter.  I am full in Dawlish this week but back there early April.

Hope you are warm & cozy wherever you are.

Shiatsu Exmouth, Exeter & Dawlish, Devon

Very excited to be heading down to Exmouth tomorrow, for my first pop-up Shiatsu event.  I have attended a few mind, body, spirit fairs in the area & I had so much interest in Shiatsu that really I had to offer it in the town. shiatsu 28.01.2017 048.JPG

I am also looking forward to being at the David Lloyd holistic health day on Sunday 25th March. Another first for me.  This is a fundraiser, the members book in & the money all goes to Cancer Research.

Other that these two new ventures I am offering Shiatsu in Exeter every week as normal.  I absolutely love giving Shiatsu in the ‘Shiatsu Shed’ – a real wood cabin in my garden, in Exwick.  I will be in Dawlish next Friday at the lovely Studio space.img_20180113_1018401537308230.jpg

I also have a Saturday appointment available on Saturday 24th March at 11.45, in Exeter.  Otherwise my next Saturday surgery is on April 28th.

It feels like there is a lot to be happy about at the moment & lots to look forward to.

I’m always happy to talk Shiatsu so do get in touch through the  ‘Contact Me’ page if you have any questions.

April Event, Shiatsu in Devon

North Devon Mind, Body and Soul Festival - Entrance

I’m going to be at the North Devon Mind, Body, Soul event again this year.  I had such a great time last year, the atmosphere was great, there were loads of stalls & tasters & I loved giving loads of Shiatsu’s.

The event is on Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd April & is held at The Big Sheep, near Bideford. It takes place in a big marquee style venue, with two spaces.  I was really happy with where I was last year, I had the space to offer Shiatsu on a mat on the floor or on a massage chair. Crossing my fingers I am in the same place this year.

If you would like to know more about this event you can go to the Big Sheep website.  You can even book in for a Shiatsu taster with me in advance if you fancy it.

Maybe see some of you lovelies there?

Shiatsu for Pain, Exeter, Dawlish & Exmouth, Devon

For those of you who don’t know Shiatsu is a form of hands-on therapy. It’s a bit like a massage, it uses massage techniques, but it is always given through clothing.  Shiatsu is generally given on a futon mat on the floor but can be given on a couch or massage chair. It is a very relaxing treatment that can also leave a client feeling energised.

Shiatsu is suitable for all & can help with a great number of conditions. It can be helpful for long-term care & can have preventative benefits.  I have had clients who have come for Shiatsu for various physical conditions including back ache, arthritis, hip issues, frozen shoulder, Sciatica & pelvic issues.

Shiatsu can also be helpful for emotional & mental concerns such as stress & anxiety. I have had clients come with issues such as work related stress, relationship breakdown or issues, high levels of anxiety & depression.

Pain is a common issue that people come for Shiatsu for, whether it is due to a recent accident or injury or a more chronic condition.  Clients have found that Shiatsu has helped ease pain levels for some period after a treatment.   Generally the pain relief lasts for longer & longer periods of time, as the client has more sessions.  In my experience Shiatsu seems to have a very positive effect on joint pain, whether that is Arthritis or an injury or another issue.

Clients have often expressed that the mental strain of pain is almost as bad as the actual pain itself.  Particularly if someone has lived with pain for a long period of time it can become an almost unbearable strain. Shiatsu is a very supportive treatment & it can provide comfort to the client, they may feel that they don’t have to manage it completely on their own.  Shiatsu can also help with energy levels & with a little more energy a client may feel they have the resources to be able to make changes & not feel that the pain is in control of them.

I love giving Shiatsu & hearing, from clients, about the positive effects it has for them.  If you would like to hear about events & offers then please like my Facebook page.  If you have any questions then do get in touch through the Contact Me page.
